About the Role
Info Arab Media FZ-LLC / Al Mashhad is seeking a camera/ Jimmy Jib Operator to join our existing Studio Operations Team in the Headquarter located in Dubai, UAE. The camera/ Jimmy Jib Operator will be responsible for providing timely technical operations support for the fast-paced 24*7/365 news and entertainment broadcast network.
Key Accountabilities
The selected candidate is expected to perform the following tasks:
- Sets up and ensures proper balance of the video or robotic camera equipment for assigned productions.
- Remotely operates robotic cameras and robotic jib in studio environments: domestically and in remote bureaus.
- Operates traditional video cameras in a virtual studio environment or other environments as assigned.
- Maintains framing and focus while trucking a camera.
- Operates cameras in a safe, skilled, and creative fashion.
- Reports technical issues to the engineering team and the technical supervisor.
- Demonstrates attention to production protocols such as facs out, crew calls, scheduling announcements, programming changes, etc.
- Maintains acceptable video levels for incoming, outgoing, and internal signals, and performing daily set-up and shading of studio cameras.
- Responsible for operation of single and/or multiple cameras through robotic control as ordered by show Director.
Qualifications & Experience
- At least 3 years of experience in camera operations in a live or live-to-tape multi-camera studio environment required.
- Demonstrated competency in robotic camera operations in a studio environment.
- A two-year degree in television production or related field or equivalent technical educational experience.
- Knowledge of High-Definition cameras, robotics and pedestal camera equipment set up and usage.
- Knowledge of ENG, DSLR, mirrorless cameras and lenses.
- Knowledge of lighting concepts and equipment and principles of video operations, including white balancing, shading and colour correction.
- Ability to set up, chip and balance camera levels for multi camera production.
- Knowledge of camera and video router patching.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods (at least 60 minutes) while multi-tasking in a fast paced, high pressure, live production environment.
