Summary of essential job functions

  • Proposals and Impact Assessment

Work with DGIT and client stakeholders to draft proposals and impact assessments for new initiatives. Create designs and estimates and seek approval and signoff to manage any subsequent delivery risk.
Bid responses – provide detailed responses in RFX processes.
Customer demonstrations including building custom demos.

  • Technical sales collateral

Create technical sales collateral and re-usable proposal materials to support sales staff, partner and internal customer champions so they

  • Customer Architecture Roadmap

Work with Client Enterprise Architects to develop and maintain an Enterprise Architecture as consistent as possible with the Telflow Architecture and Roadmap.

  • High Level Software Design

Where required, using the Enterprise Architecture, Business Requirements and/or the functional requirements, create the necessary high level Solution Design to meet customer functional requirements.
Document the design and gain approval from the design authority to ensure the design maintains the overall integrity.

  • Scope Interpretation.

Work with customers to interpret requirements and remove ambiguity over requirements so as to get a clear statement of scope for each opportunity.

  • Design Integrity

Ensure the DGIT solution is designed in accordance with the High Level Solution Design. Escalate any issues that are likely to have cost or time impacts to the DGIT delivery.

  • Training

Maintain training materials and deliver training to customers, partners and internal staff.

  • Team participation and contribution

Participate in team meetings and actively contribute to designs, issues, risks, interdependencies and other items under discussion. Mentor colleagues in particular areas of expertise.

  • Knowledge definition and capture

Turn intrinsic knowledge into extrinsic knowledge by actively contributing to knowledge capture systems such as the internal Wiki and document management systems. Conduct team training sessions to both gain and deliver knowledge and experience.

  • Personal Management

Support the organization by ensuring compliance with time sheeting, status management, administration and other internal procedures.
Requirements
The position requires the candidate to have or develop capability in the following skills:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in either analysis, design or development of commercial software development.
  • Telco Industry experience. In applications to support Fulfil Assure & Bill.
  • Practical experience with Design Patterns.

The position expects that the candidate will require a degree in Software Engineering or equivalent in order to perform the duties as required.
The position expects that the candidate will have or acquire domain expertise in the Telecommunications Provisioning and Assurance domains.
The position expects that the candidate will have 5+ years' experience in software development roles.
