Job Description

A position has become available for an Executive Pastry Chef to join the F&B kitchen team.

The Executive Pastry Chef directs and supervises the pastry and baking responsibilities of the kitchen(s), which include menu planning, inventory management and purchasing, and cost control. Conducts recipe testing and development, as well as monitoring consumer satisfaction.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • To guarantee that all standard recipes, food presentation, and correspondence are completed accurately and on time in collaboration with the Executive Chef and EAM-Food and Beverage.
  • To create menus and “specials” that fulfill the needs of the target market and are consistent with the restaurant’s operational model.
  • To create menus and standard recipes (as specified in SOPs) that enable the Pastry and Bakery to operate at an acceptable food cost while meeting visitor demands and expectations.
  • Supervises the pastry/bakery standards at each outlet and banquet hall.
  • To guarantee that operating and kitchen equipment is kept in good condition and that breakage is kept to a minimal.
  • To maximize coworker productivity and morale while adhering to hotel policies and local laws.

  • Contributes to the formation of an effective team of colleagues by taking an active role in their welfare, safety, training, and growth.
  • Identifies food market demands and trends for both hotel guests and the local market, and Monitors and analyzes competitive eateries’ menus and merchandise.
  • Any other duties that management may reasonably desire.

Qualifications

Concerning yourself:

The ideal applicant for this position will possess the following abilities and experience:

  • Hotel management diploma
  • At least one year of experience as a kitchen trainee or chef
  • Effective verbal and written communication in English.
  • Minimum of five years as a pastry chef at a five-star hotel
  • Collaborating with cross-cultural teams
  • Competitor/best practice information
  • Ability to create menus
  • Skills with computers and Microsoft Office
