Job Description

Job Purpose

This position is responsible for assisting the General Counsel and VP of Risk & Compliance (GC) and the team in providing legal support, services, and advice to Business Units, Support Services, and Corporate Functions across the organization. The role includes supporting the lawyers in the company Legal Department, wherever required in legal terms and conditions, in dealing with external counsel, and other competent authorities, as appropriate. The core activities of the position involve the review of contracts and other binding documentation, advice, and action on contentious matters, preparation of contracts, and administrative support where required.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

MANAGE COMMERCIAL / BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

  • To work closely with the GC and the team to ensure best practices in the consistent, good quality and timely delivery of legal services, support and advice to Business Units, Support Services and the Corporate Functions across the organization.
  • To support lawyers with marking up documents and legal research matters, keeping internal registers up to date, and ensuring compliance with the internal legal process
  • And To provide advice and guidance on legal matters and issues affecting the business or the work of any Business Units, Support Services and Corporate Functions across the organization.

Process Management

  • Continuously improving legal processes, procedures and systems and supporting lawyers on the same.

And

  • Internal Department compliance against DOAs
  • Conducting verbal and written presentations to departments and discussing recommendations and observations with red flags and action plans.

Organizational Management

  • To build, support, and maintain effective working relationships with Business Units, Support Services, and Corporate Functions across the organization.
  • To provide guidance, development, and training to ensure staff is considering their legal risks.

Job Types: Full-time, Temporary
Contract length: 6 months
