About the Role

J-Club is expanding, and we are looking for an ambitious, performance-driven to work individually with the client by assessing them and developing a fitness, health, or diet program to help them improve their health and fitness and obtain their objectives.
Your main duties will include the following:

  • Complete day-to-day activities by following all relevant departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner while delivering a quality service to guests and maintaining standards of excellence.
  • Adhere to and prioritize all relevant Health, Safety and Environment management procedures and controls within a defined area of activity so that Jumeirah Group provides world class and luxurious hospitality services to its guests.
  • Screen a potential client to determine if they can be physical trained and to understand the clients’ fitness goals and aspirations and assign the best training regime / fitness plan.
  • Perform a fitness assessment of a client to structure their training regimen accordingly.
  • Give full and safe fitness instruction and guidance through Gym induction sessions, as required by individuals using the facility.
  • Provide the client with general dietary advice to help them make informed meal and meal timing decisions.
  • Recommend dietary supplements that can help the client meet their specific fitness goals.
  • Structure an exercise regimen according to the client’s level and specific goals (weight loss, lean muscle gain, endurance, muscular strength, etc.) to ensure the client has the proper workout in place to reach these objectives.
  • Monitor the client to ensure they are on the right track in achieving their fitness and health objectives.
  • Motivate exercisers to return to training sessions at a regular schedule so physical progress can continue steadily.
  • Promote and encourage personal training sessions, internal programs, and services to club members to contribute to the Fitness Centre’s sales targets.
  • It is an essential requirement in the role that the Personal Trainer actively contribute to reaching the health club financial targets by selling Personal Training sessions – minimum of 100 personal Training session per calendar month. It will be expected that the Personal Trainer meets this performance standard once they have completed their probationary period on an on-going basis.
  • Submit monthly business plan to your line manager.
  • Ensure the general cleanliness and maintenance of the gymnasium equipment and surrounding areas daily.
  • Maintain order and cleanliness of all areas in the gym and its equipment, including cardiovascular area, resistance and free weights area and the gym office/assessment room.
  • Ensure that weights (dumbbells, plates etc.) are replaced on the weight racks in order and on a regular basis.
  • Check all audio equipment in aerobics studio and in gym (headphones, transmitters, TV) during opening and closing shift and make sure they are in working order and report any malfunctions immediately.
  • Ensure there is always a Fitness Instructor on the gym floor.
  • Perform related tasks and duties as assigned and deemed responsible by management.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:

  • Internationally recognized Personal Training Certification equivalent to REPS level 3
  • 2 to 4 years of fitness training experience; preferably with an international hospitality company.
  • Ability to act as a role model to clients through own athletic body shape / aspirational.
  • Excellent instruction and training skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Fitness Industry
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
  • Knowledge of nutrition and healthy diet.
  • Good motivational and communication skills.
  • Good judgment skills to balance fitness requirements and abilities
  • Very good command of the English language.
